Frequently asked questions
Can I scan a document with my phone?
Yes. On a supported phone, allow camera access in your browser to capture multiple pages. You can also upload photos already on your phone; no app install is needed.
Which image formats are accepted?
JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and HEIF are accepted, with up to 50 images per scan-to-PDF job (subject to your plan's batch limit).
Can I make the resulting PDF searchable?
Yes. Turn on OCR to add an invisible searchable text layer. OCR is limited to 20 pages per job; text recognition depends on image clarity.
Which OCR languages can I choose?
English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Japanese.
Does automatic cropping ever cut off content?
The border crop targets dark scanner edges and is skipped when it would remove too much of an image. Always review the downloaded pages.
What are the upload size limits?
Each file may be up to 25 MB for guests, 50 MB on a free account or 500 MB on Premium. Your plan may also limit the number of files per job.
Are my photos kept?
Files are automatically deleted after 1 hour for guests, 24 hours for free accounts and 7 days for Premium.
