Frequently asked questions

Does PDF to PNG reduce quality?

No. PNG is a lossless format, so the image is an exact rasterisation of the page at the resolution you choose. Higher dpi means more pixels and a larger file.

Which resolution should I choose?

72 dpi is enough for screens and email, 150 dpi is a good default for documents, and 300 dpi matches print quality. An A4 page at 300 dpi is about 2480 × 3508 pixels.

Can I keep a transparent background?

Yes. Enable the transparent option and areas without ink are exported as transparent pixels instead of white.

How do I convert only some pages?

Type a page selection such as 2-5 or 1,3,8 before you start. Leave it empty to convert every page.

What is the file size limit?

Guests can upload files up to 25 MB each. A free account raises the limit to 50 MB per file, and Premium allows 500 MB per file with larger batches.

Are my files private?

Files are encrypted in transit, processed on our servers and deleted automatically after a short time.
