Will this edit existing text in the PDF?

No. Pages are rendered as images before enhancement, so existing selectable text, links and annotations may be flattened. Keep the source file if those elements matter.

What does despeckle do?

It reduces isolated dots and scanner noise. Check fine print and tiny marks after processing because aggressive cleanup can soften them.

Which resolution should I use?

Choose 150 dpi for smaller files, 200 dpi for most scans or 300 dpi when small print needs more detail. Higher resolution may make the output larger.

Can I search the cleaned PDF?

Enable OCR to add a searchable text layer. OCR accepts up to 20 pages per job and may misread blurry handwriting or low-resolution print.

What languages does OCR support?

English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Japanese.

What is the maximum file size?
